Catching Up!

I haven't posted since Wednesday so I thought I'd play catch up this morning. Gunner's ENT appointment went well on Friday. He does have to have tubes. The good news from our appointment, he had no infection in his ears, only fluid. Thank the Lord. The DR said the reason he's keeping the ear infections is because his ears aren't draining the fluid off of them on their own. The antibiotic gets rid of the infection but doesn't get rid of the drainage. So the fluid sitting on his ears keeps the infections coming back. I really liked his DR. I even liked the office he was in. He will be getting his tubes on June the 13th. Even though this will be a scary experience, being his first surgery, I'm just glad my baby will finally be getting some relief. Now just praying everything goes smoothly.

Friday night Tuff has a playdate with cousin Ada while I ran to town to get a few things. He really had a good time. When I stopped by to get him on the way home they were just getting in the bath tub to take a bath. :) Saturday morning we got up and headed over to Aunt Amanda's for a little while to play. After a  few hours of playing with Aunt Manda, we headed to Easton's 2nd birthday party. I'm SO glad Lana does his party's here so we can spend that special time with them. (They live out of state) Tuff really enjoyed his time at Easton's party.
He played on the kiddie slides...

He ate with his friends.

He even got to ride the Gator (and loved it!)

Then he enjoyed his very BLUE cupcake on the way home.

Sunday morning we went to church and stopped by the grocery store on our way home. Everyone had Sunday naps, except mommy. Sunday night was spent with friends and family. Now we're gearing up for a day of fun in the sun for Memorial Day with our family.

Oh, and Gunner has learned something new.
Check it out.

Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day!

Update on Gunner

Gunner's appointment on Monday went just like I thought it would. We were ordered 3 Rocephin shots for the next 3 days. The first one we got while we were there on Monday. We got one yesterday and one this morning. We were also referred to see an ENT on Friday morning. Hopefully the ENT will get us squared away and in the right direction. Ready for this baby to feel better!

Monday (shot#1) :

Tuesday (shot#2) :
He didn't even cry on Tuesday, just looked at the nurse like she was crazy!

I didn't get his picture this morning. For the first 2 shots, they made me wait 15 minutes after. I guess just to make sure he didn't have any reactions. During that 15 minutes is when I took his pictures. Today though, she let us go immediately after so I had no time for picture taking. Plus, he wasn't too happy about his shot today. I think because she moved back to the first leg which is still sore from Monday's shot, I'm sure!

He wasn't feeling up to par yesterday after his shot so I stayed home with him. He whined alot when he would try to move around. I'm pretty sure his chubby legs were/are sore. Those Rocephin shots are really painful. We just hung around the house, played a little and napped. Tuff headed out with his Baba around lunch time for "wucky cheese." He got home around 6:30. He had no nap all day so he was out like a light in the chair when I got in from running last night.

That's right, I said running. I've decided it's time to LOSE this baby weight. Why not, since I don't plan on having any more. I am 28 pounds up from where I started, before getting pregnant with Tuff. I'd really like to lose those 28 pounds, if not a little extra. Last night I did 2 miles. I went to a local track and would walk a lap and run a lap until I got up to 2 miles. I'm not going to lie, it was HARD. I even almost threw up twice (I think because I kept tasting my taco from lunch, yuck!).... But I kept pushing myself. Hopefully this will all work out in my favor. My sister has agreed to join me as much as she can. Thank the Lord. These kind of things just aren't easy doing alone. A motivational partner is always nice to have! Anyways, wish me luck!

Can't wait for our 3 day weekend!
Happy Wednesday, friends!

Busy weekend

Our weekend started Friday afternoon about 5. We spent the afternoon pampering my 14 year old sister for a beauty pageant. She was is the same pageant last year. I wrote about that here. She looked even more beautiful this year. She didn't place but she had fun and memories were made. To me, that's what it's all about. Here are some pictures of her all dolled up before the pageant.

I was childless for the night. My wonderful MIL offered to keep the children since the pageant didn't start until 9 p.m. We didn't even leave there until after 11 p.m. That would have been a disaster for my children. It was also really chilly and I don't think that would have been good for Gunner's ears. Since I was childless, I got to sit and relax the whole night. I enjoyed my time watching the show without having to chase someone around the whole time. I also got to catch up with two of my favorite girls!!!

Saturday morning we loaded back up and went back to watch Miss Ada in her pageant...

I took the boys this time since it was a more reasonable time frame for them. It was HOT. And it was only 10 a.m. I'm glad I didn't have to have them out in that all day. Sweet little Ada got 2nd runner up out of 6 contestants.

After the pageant we walked over to Joe's Place for some breakfast and to cool off. Then we headed home. Snapped a few pictures on the way home.

We hung out the rest of the day. Not because we wanted to but because we got stuck with no keys....

Sunday we went to Ada's 2nd birthday bash at the Discovery Center. The theme was princesses and pirates. Here is the birthday princess in her pirate attire.

Tuff really enjoyed the Discovery center. This is the first time we've been that's he's really gotten into it. He, of course, LOVED the train table. I could barely get him away from it the whole time.

He also liked this big old car.

Gunner in his pirate hat.

Gunner was SO tired. At one point I was holding him on my hip and he was falling asleep sitting up. I finally laid him in his stroller for a cat nap.

It was a busy but FUN weekend!

I haven't updated on Gunner's ears in a while. The Friday before last he had just ended his 2nd antibiotic for his double ear infections. He was still pulling on his ears and not sleeping well so we headed back to see Dr. C. While we were there, he confirmed both ears were still infected and sent us home with a 3rd antibiotic. I asked him a lot of questions about this. I was concerned about him having a double ear infection for going on 4 weeks. He said this was the strongest antibiotic left and if it didn't clear it, we would have to start talking tubes. Well, we ended that antibiotic this morning and the poor baby has been pulling more on those ears the past few days then he has the whole 5 weeks this has been going on. I have him scheduled this afternoon to see Dr. C again! I'm afraid we may be headed in the direction for tubes. I'm a little scared of that but really wanting my baby to feel better, too. I will update later tomorrow on how his appointment went. Besides pulling on his ears he's been crawling!!! Since Friday he has been moving, moving, moving. Can't believe how fast time is flying by!

Hope you all had a nice weekend!
Happy Monday!

Mother's Day weekend

We had a loooong weekend. It was semi-busy. Friday morning my older sister April and my mom took the kids to get their pictures made so we could order a canvas for mom for Mother's Day. THAT was interesting. Of course my kid didn't want to participate and cried like a baby. I thought the picture turned out great even if my kids face was red and you MAY or MAY NOT be able to see tears on both of his cheeks in the picture. Just sayin'.
Check it out...
Sweet, sweet babies!
Are we blessed OR are we blessed???
:)

After pictures we had a nice picnik outside of Chick-fil-a for lunch. The kids seemed to enjoy this better than taking pictures! :)

After the picnik we had a little time to kill before an appointment so we stopped by a local park, just me and the boys. Tuff played while I fed Gunner. After Gunner got done eating we walked around the park a little. Tuff posed for a picture.

And after the park we headed back to the DR to see our closest (it seems lately) friend, Dr. C. Gunner STILL has double ear infection. We're going on 4 weeks and 3 antibiotics. The child is miserable ya'll. I asked what we were going to do if this antibiotic didn't work and he replied "We'll have to start talking tubes." Obviously I don't want him to have to go through that, or any surgery, but if it's going to make my baby feel better, I'll do whatever it takes.

Saturday morning the boys spent time with daddy while me and mom went to a yard sale a friend of mine was having. I got Gunner some overhauls and a pair of crocs for when he's older. The real crocs for $.50, we'll take it! We love some crocs around our household. Tuff would wear them to church if I'd let him. After our yard sale extravaganza, I took a 3 hour nap. Then we got ready to go to dinner in celebration of my mother for Mother's Day! We went to Miller's Grocery and enjoyed some yummy dinner. Took a few pictures...

Gunner sported his new .50 overhauls

Sunday morning I woke up to some pretty flowers from my boys.

And some cards.

We had a very low key/crazy Mother's Day! We didn't go to church like we usually do. It was so nasty outside (raining) and it was supposed to do it all day so I didn't want to get the boys out in that. Around lunch time we went to Jordan's grandmother's for lunch with his family. Gunner was tired and irritable so we didn't get to stay long. We came home for a nap. Then spent the rest of the day trying to relax. Gunner hasn't been feeling his best because of his ears and he had a pretty off day yesterday. Tuff also had an off day. Lots of hitting/throwing things/not listening. Needless to say, I was exhausted last night. Thankfully we all got a good night of sleep...

Happy Monday, friends!!!

Tuff's last day of MDO

Today was Tuff's last day of MDO until August. We'd been working hard on a special gift for Mrs. Cilla this week. Tuff was excited to finally be taking it to her this morning. Here he is holding Mrs. Cilla's gift before school.

And here is what we worked so hard on...

I thought it turned out perfect. It will look good hanging on Mrs. P's classroom wall ;)

I'm not real sure how Tuff feels about it being his last day. I'm not so sure he really understands. I expect him to start asking to go to school in a week or so when he realizes it's been a while. When I was trying to explain to him that today would be his last day for a few months he said "Don't say that mama!" Sweet boy loves his school.

Gunner is still pulling on his ears after finishing his 2nd antibiotic yesterday so we're headed BACK to see Dr. C tomorrow for the 3rd time about his ears. I know he's ready for some relief. Poor bud. Other than pulling on his ears and wanting mommy to hold him 24/7 he's got a few new tricks. We've been catching him like this....
in his crib.

And as you can see, he's been pretty excited about it...

So we had to lower his matress tonight. He's getting big way too fast. He's still not crawling but getting anywhere & everywhere he wants to get by scooting his self. He's also started rolling from back to belly and sitting his self up, all on his own. Big boy.

I'm in love with these boys. I don't know what I'd do without them.

Sooooo close to Friday!
Happy Thursday, friends!!!!

The past few days.

I mentioned Harrison & Sophie's program Thursday night. The MDO they attend was having their pre-school graduation and all of the other classes did a little act after the graduation ceremony. Sophie was a little shy but that's normal for her. Harrison was VERY shy and that's not at all normal for him. He pretty much stood there with his hand in his mouth the whole time. HA! But we had a good time watching them and all the other children. Afterwards we had a little photo shoot. Here are a few pictures from the night.
My sweet boy & meme

My pictures of Sophie & Harrison didn't turn out to good. But good enough to see them.

And Harry with his hand in his mouth :)

After the show....

LOVE these sweet boys

Sweet Sophie loves that mama! :)

We kept telling Tuffy if he was good we'd get him an ice cream cone.
We kept our word...

Friday night we went to Relay for Life in our hometown. Tuff and Ada enjoyed dancing the night away.

Saturday morning we went to the lift-a-thon. I posted about that here. After naps we headed back out for a night at the fair. Tuff really enjoyed it this year. Last year he wasn't tall enough to ride the rides.

He liked these jeeps until they started rear ending the one infront of him. He didn't like that so much.

Getting ready to swing with daddy.

This morning we went to church and after naps we spent a little time at the park.

Our "almost"crawler :)

And a few random shots from the past few days....

Tuffy thought he'd show brother how to drive

And brother caught on quick!

Gunner keeping meme company in the garage while she was working on a project.

And we ended the weekend with a nice, refreshing, green bath!
