Back on Track

As of yesterday, I am back at work.

Unfortunitely.
That's the only word I can come up with to describe the sentence I just typed.

I'm a little bummed. Yes, I will get over it within a few weeks. Maybe even a few days once I adjust to our new schedule, but right now, I'm going to stick to being bummed about it. :( I miss my boys throughout the week while I'm at work. I hate the fact that once I get home, get dinner cooked, get the boys fed/bathed and get bags packed for the next day... it's time to go to bed. It sucks. Hopefully one day Daddy will get the position we're hoping for at work and mommy can stay home more. I'm hoping for at least part time. We just have to leave it up to the good Lord. He has a plan for everyone and right now our plan involves me working.

Work has been going pretty good. We are filing extensions right now so I've stayed pretty steady since I came back yesterday morning. Which is always a good thing. Everyone is adjusting to mommy going back to work. Tuff misses his mommy and daddy throughout the day. (Or so I hear.) We all knew this was going to happen. Poor bubs. I think he really enjoyed having his mommy home with him the past 7 weeks. He was a little upset when I dropped him off at school this morning. Gunner could care less what's going on as long as someone is feeding him, holding him and keeping his diapers clean. Lol.

I wanted to put some pictures up from Gunner's birth to now. Just for a record of how much he's grown and changed in the past 7 weeks. Speaking of, our sweet baby boy is 7 weeks old today! He's growing like a weed.

Here is my little time line.
(Including some "firsts")

Just a few seconds old

FIRST bottle

FIRST outfit

FIRST car ride (home from hospital)

FIRST time being held by big brother

FIRST time watching cartoons with big brother

Sweet face

So serious

FIRST bath

FIRST tie ;)

FIRST time to the park

FIRST monthly photo session

FIRST parade. He slept the entire time.
(the rash on his face is from a stomach virus he's had)

Playing in the bouncy

Big brother bouncing him in the bouncy

The child LOVES to be naked!!!
I've never in my life seen a baby so small enjoy being un-clothed. But this one, loves it. He can be fussy and all we have to do is take his clothes off and he's happy again. Tuff HATED being naked, taking baths, having his clothes changed and having his diaper changed. Ha. Amazing how different they are. Our sweet boy is already getting so big. Before we know it, he'll be as big as Tuff.

I'll be back tomorrow with pictures from our trip to the Parade in our hometown last Friday!
Stay tuned...

One Year

One year ago (yesterday)...

I was marrying the love of my life...

It was one of the best days of my life. (The others being the days our babies were born.)

It has been one heck of a year. We have gone through many ups and downs but we are still standing solid. Just as I knew we would! :)

Jordan is my rock.
He is my best friend and he is the best husband I could ever ask for.

Most importantly, he IS the best daddy in the world for our babies.
I love the way Tuff lights up when he sees daddy walk in the room.
I love how excited he gets when daddy is ready to play.
And what I love the most is hearing that sweet word "da-ee" come from his mouth.
I love how big Gunner's eyes get when Jordan holds him and says "It's Daddy"
Bitter sweet is what that is.

BITTER SWEET is what the past year has been together.

And BITTER SWEET is what the rest of our lives together will be like... Just me, you and our boys!!!

Here's to FOREVER together sweet Husband of mine.
Happy Anniversary to us!
I love you more than you'll ever know.

Love always,
Wifey.

Gunner Blake- 1 month old

I plan on trying to record Gunner's monthly "stats" until he's at least a year old. I want to do this for Gunner. It will be something he (or we) can look back at any time. So these posts will be for Gunner! And of course for everyone to see how big he's getting and how much he's progressing.

Gunner baby, you were ONE month old on Friday!!!

I just can't believe how fast this first month has flown by.... Time flies with one baby but when you add a 2nd one to the family, it seems to fly by even faster. Your mama is a little bit sad about her babies growing up so fast. I also only have 2 weeks left of being off with my 2 sweet boys and I'm MORE than a little sad about that. Sometimes I think I'd do almost anything to be able to stay at home with you and your big brother. Hopefully one day within the next few years I'll be able to do that or atleast work part time so I can be home with the both of you more.

We have really enjoyed our first month with your sweet baby face.

Here are a few things you're up to these days...

  • The last time we weighed you, you were 8 and a 1/2 pounds. That was last Tuesday.
  • You are already wearing a size 1 diaper. You have been since you were 3 and a half weeks old.
  • You are still wearing some newborn clothes but you are also wearing some 0-3 & 3 months as well.
  • You ARE not sleeping through the night. Haha.
  • You are eating 3.5 ounces every 3-4 hours. I like you to go 4 but a lot of times you tell me otherwise. :)
  • We have just changed your formula to SIMILAC Alimentum. You were having some problems with gas and it was hurting your tummy too much to keep you on the formula you were taking. This is the MOST expensive formula I've seen on the shelf. ($30 a can) I'm actually waiting on your Dr. to call back right now to see if he'll right you a prescription for it so insurance will cover it. Mommy and Daddy both are keeping our fingers crossed.
  • You are a big piggy!!! Most of the time if you're awake, you think you're hungry.
  • You are starting to be awake more frequently. Our biggest issue is that you like to be awake for 30 minutes to an hour after every feeding. This wouldn't be a problem... if you didn't do this at night time too. I have a feeling Mommy is going to be one tired mommy when she goes back to work in 2 weeks.
  • You are starting to smile a tad bit... I caught a smidge of that while I was taking your 1 month pictures

  • You have had a few bumps caused by big brother... not intentionally. Big brother loves you VERY much. He constantly loves on you all throughout the day and tries to take care of you. His favorite things to do is hold you and give you your paci. I have no doubt he'll be the best big brother ever.
  • You have a few nick names so far. Papa calls you "G-Baby" and I like to call you Gunner-Bunner. :)
  • You still don't have a set routine but I'm sure this is normal for a one month old. Hopefully we all have a set routine by the time you are 2 months old.
  • You don't like the paci very much. Not near as much as your big brother did/does. Maybe we'll be able to break you from it sooner :)
We are majorly blessed!!!! You are an excellent baby and we love you more and more every day!!!! Happy one month sweet boy.

Love,
Mommy, Daddy & Big Brother Tuff

TIRED but BLESSED

Sorry for the lack of posts... But life with a newborn and a 2 year old isnt exactly easy-breezy. But don't get me wrong, I wouldnt trade my babies for anything.. except maybe sleep. Haha. I kid, I kid.

Life is good. Im really enjoying my days snuggling up to this sweet thang.

He looks pretty cuddly huh? :)

We have STILL been working on getting adjusted to a routine. It's hard... and I'm one TIRED mama. Gunner had his first night off last night. My wonderful MIL kept him over night so I could get a full night of sleep. It was much needed, that's for sure. Gunner is a really good baby. He just doesn't sleep very well at night. I really think he might have just a tad bit of cholic. After every night time bottle he cries for atleast 30 minutes to an hour. And he does NOT like to lay flat. Meaning in his pack and play, crib or bed. It's a little bit exhausting. But, he's very much worth every minute of no sleep.

We pretty much love him ALOT.
sporting his first tie
cuddlin with mama

first bath :)

I mean, how could anyone not???

Big brother has ALOT going on lately too. Along with adjusting to having a little brother in the house, he is also still adjusting to going to "school" 2 days a week AND we've been working on sleeping in his big boy bed all by his self. He is doing SO much better going to school. Yesterday was his very first day of NO crying or whining when I dropped him off. I was one sad proud mama. Yesterday was also grandparents day at school. They had a little program prepared where the kids sang a few songs. I tagged along to video tape but we also got some pictures. Tuff acted pretty proud of his school. He especially liked showing off his classroom. Here are some pictures....

All the kids singing
Tuff didn't want to take pictures, like usual
and this is the sweet craft he made for both Papa&Meme and Baba&Poppy.
I was a little jealous. Haha. Can't wait until he's making mama stuff like this.

As for the big boy bed... it's not going so smoothly. But we're only on night 4 (tonight). He does ok when he actually falls asleep but its hard trying to get him to actually stay in the bed until he falls asleep. We have 2 and a half more weeks to get it down. (I go back to work then). Say a little prayer for us.

We pretty much love this one ALOT, too ;)

And until next time....
