Mother's Day weekend

We had a loooong weekend. It was semi-busy. Friday morning my older sister April and my mom took the kids to get their pictures made so we could order a canvas for mom for Mother's Day. THAT was interesting. Of course my kid didn't want to participate and cried like a baby. I thought the picture turned out great even if my kids face was red and you MAY or MAY NOT be able to see tears on both of his cheeks in the picture. Just sayin'.
Check it out...
Sweet, sweet babies!
Are we blessed OR are we blessed???
:)

After pictures we had a nice picnik outside of Chick-fil-a for lunch. The kids seemed to enjoy this better than taking pictures! :)

After the picnik we had a little time to kill before an appointment so we stopped by a local park, just me and the boys. Tuff played while I fed Gunner. After Gunner got done eating we walked around the park a little. Tuff posed for a picture.

And after the park we headed back to the DR to see our closest (it seems lately) friend, Dr. C. Gunner STILL has double ear infection. We're going on 4 weeks and 3 antibiotics. The child is miserable ya'll. I asked what we were going to do if this antibiotic didn't work and he replied "We'll have to start talking tubes." Obviously I don't want him to have to go through that, or any surgery, but if it's going to make my baby feel better, I'll do whatever it takes.

Saturday morning the boys spent time with daddy while me and mom went to a yard sale a friend of mine was having. I got Gunner some overhauls and a pair of crocs for when he's older. The real crocs for $.50, we'll take it! We love some crocs around our household. Tuff would wear them to church if I'd let him. After our yard sale extravaganza, I took a 3 hour nap. Then we got ready to go to dinner in celebration of my mother for Mother's Day! We went to Miller's Grocery and enjoyed some yummy dinner. Took a few pictures...

Gunner sported his new .50 overhauls

Sunday morning I woke up to some pretty flowers from my boys.

And some cards.

We had a very low key/crazy Mother's Day! We didn't go to church like we usually do. It was so nasty outside (raining) and it was supposed to do it all day so I didn't want to get the boys out in that. Around lunch time we went to Jordan's grandmother's for lunch with his family. Gunner was tired and irritable so we didn't get to stay long. We came home for a nap. Then spent the rest of the day trying to relax. Gunner hasn't been feeling his best because of his ears and he had a pretty off day yesterday. Tuff also had an off day. Lots of hitting/throwing things/not listening. Needless to say, I was exhausted last night. Thankfully we all got a good night of sleep...

Happy Monday, friends!!!

Tuff's last day of MDO

Today was Tuff's last day of MDO until August. We'd been working hard on a special gift for Mrs. Cilla this week. Tuff was excited to finally be taking it to her this morning. Here he is holding Mrs. Cilla's gift before school.

And here is what we worked so hard on...

I thought it turned out perfect. It will look good hanging on Mrs. P's classroom wall ;)

I'm not real sure how Tuff feels about it being his last day. I'm not so sure he really understands. I expect him to start asking to go to school in a week or so when he realizes it's been a while. When I was trying to explain to him that today would be his last day for a few months he said "Don't say that mama!" Sweet boy loves his school.

Gunner is still pulling on his ears after finishing his 2nd antibiotic yesterday so we're headed BACK to see Dr. C tomorrow for the 3rd time about his ears. I know he's ready for some relief. Poor bud. Other than pulling on his ears and wanting mommy to hold him 24/7 he's got a few new tricks. We've been catching him like this....
in his crib.

And as you can see, he's been pretty excited about it...

So we had to lower his matress tonight. He's getting big way too fast. He's still not crawling but getting anywhere & everywhere he wants to get by scooting his self. He's also started rolling from back to belly and sitting his self up, all on his own. Big boy.

I'm in love with these boys. I don't know what I'd do without them.

Sooooo close to Friday!
Happy Thursday, friends!!!!

The past few days.

I mentioned Harrison & Sophie's program Thursday night. The MDO they attend was having their pre-school graduation and all of the other classes did a little act after the graduation ceremony. Sophie was a little shy but that's normal for her. Harrison was VERY shy and that's not at all normal for him. He pretty much stood there with his hand in his mouth the whole time. HA! But we had a good time watching them and all the other children. Afterwards we had a little photo shoot. Here are a few pictures from the night.
My sweet boy & meme

My pictures of Sophie & Harrison didn't turn out to good. But good enough to see them.

And Harry with his hand in his mouth :)

After the show....

LOVE these sweet boys

Sweet Sophie loves that mama! :)

We kept telling Tuffy if he was good we'd get him an ice cream cone.
We kept our word...

Friday night we went to Relay for Life in our hometown. Tuff and Ada enjoyed dancing the night away.

Saturday morning we went to the lift-a-thon. I posted about that here. After naps we headed back out for a night at the fair. Tuff really enjoyed it this year. Last year he wasn't tall enough to ride the rides.

He liked these jeeps until they started rear ending the one infront of him. He didn't like that so much.

Getting ready to swing with daddy.

This morning we went to church and after naps we spent a little time at the park.

Our "almost"crawler :)

And a few random shots from the past few days....

Tuffy thought he'd show brother how to drive

And brother caught on quick!

Gunner keeping meme company in the garage while she was working on a project.

And we ended the weekend with a nice, refreshing, green bath!

Lift-a-thon

We attended our local high schools lift-a-thon for the football team this morning. We were there supporting my nephew Dalton. He squatted more than anyone on the team, 480 lbs!!! I couldn't believe it. I can hardly believe ANY 16 year old can squat that much weight. I was VERY proud of him. I love that sweet boy like he was my own and our boys love him just as much. Here is the video of him lifting. Sorry it's sideways, I couldn't figure out how to rotate it.

The boys enjoyed watching. Gunner has been in a "hold me" mode lately so I carried him the best way I knew how. Strapped to me. He loved it. He kicked and laughed the whole time. :)

We're off to the fair tonight. Post on that to come...

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend! :)

Mother's Day Brunch

I was invited to a Mother's Day brunch with my big boy at his school today. I have to say, I've really been pleased with the MDO I chose for Tuff this year. They have done a wonderful job making my baby feel more comfortable outside of his "comfort zone." He's come a LONG way since the beginning of the school year. He had a rough start but has ended the year asking to go to school on the days he's not there. I am so proud of my baby... who really isn't a baby anymore, but who will always be mama's baby!!! Tuff was really excited to see me when he walked into the fellowship area. He wasn't too into taking pictures, as usual, but we made the best of it.

Loving his mommy but not wanting his picture made ;)

Showing off mommy's present.
The wrapping paper was hand made. Mrs. Cilla said they worked very hard on it.

My gift was a binder full of pictures all throughout the year. It was so sweet and very special. Mrs. P couldn't have thought of a better idea. Tuff has spent all afternoon looking through the pictures talking about each one. I wish I could share every page with ya'll but it would be too much. Here is the front cover & very first page...

Thanks to all the teachers and staff for such a wonderful brunch & most of all, for loving my baby and taking such good care of him! :)

Tonight we attended a program that Harrison & Sophie's school put on.
We all really enjoyed it. But it's time for us to hit the hay so more on the program tomorrow.
Until then, I'll leave ya'll with these 2 cuties...

Antibiotics- Round 2

Can you guess where we've been?

If you guessed the DR's office, you guessed right...

Gunner finished his last dose of his 10 day antibiotic(for double ear infectin I posted about here) on Saturday afternoon. Sunday was NOT a good day. He cried, and cried and cried. I could not put him down. I also noticed a little tugging on the ears. Monday morning was not any better for mom. I called and made him an afternoon appointment to see our newest best friend, Dr. C. Remember this post last week about our weekend with Tuff? Well his nose has been a running faucet since then so I decided to let him tag along incase Dr. C. thought he needed to be looked at as well. Once we got back to see Dr. C. he confirmed that both of Gunner's ears were still infected. So, antibiotic- Round 2 is in full swing. I also told Dr. C. about Tuff's symptoms last weekend and about his nose running since. I asked him if he thought he needed to be looked at. He decided just to be safe we should go ahead and look him over. Good thing we did. Poor bud has fluid on both of his ears, too AND another sinus infection. <insert sarcasm> SURPRISE!!!! When we got to Wal-Mart to pick up our prescriptions, the pharmacist came over and began to "go over" each medicine with us and I stopped her before she wasted her sweet time and told her we were used to this and that I was SURE we'd taken these before so she need not go over them with us. How sad is that? Pretty sad. When I got back to my mom's she said "I know you've got to be so tired of giving medicine!" Seriously, ya'll should see our medicine basket. It's fully stocked. And that's just with the kids medicine.

Other than being sick, we haven't been up to much. Saturday the boys spent the day with daddy while mom and I went to town for a little shopping. We went to a few consignment stores, had lunch at Olive Garden and went to the grocery store. Afterwards, I enjoyed a nice long (much needed) nap. Sunday we went to church and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon listening to Gunner cry... a lot. Unless he was being held, of course. By late afternoon we found ourselves walking up and down the drive way in the stroller. It was the only thing I could find that made him not cry. The boy loves the stroller. And a bath. I think those are his 2 favorite things. :) He has been trying so, so hard to crawl. It's so fun watching him try. He's figured out how to use his arms, now he just has to figure out how to put those legs/knees to work. Check him out...

G-baby has also been giving some pretty sweet kisses away...
(Loving his Pa)

....and Tuffy has still been his normal self. Acting like a crazy 3 year old most days and always keeping mommy on her toes. :) He had a little visitor at MeMe's when he woke up from his nap last Friday. Only his favorite person EVER (besides mommy, of course;-))
:)

Happy Tuesday!
