Summer school, here we come!

My 1st born will be 3 years old exactly one month from today. Where has the time gone? My baby is definitely NOT a baby anymore. :( But, one thing is for sure, he will always be mommy's baby! No matter how old he is.

Anyways, my almost 3 year old has been on summer break for a little over a month now. The past week or so boredom has really started to set in. Now, boredom doesn't come single handed with a 3 year old. It also comes with lots of attitude, fit throwing and most of all, mischievous acts. Our sweet little man came with all the "side effects." Aren't we lucky? ;-) The past week he's had PLENTY of attitude to last me a lifetime, plenty of tantrums and enough mischievous acts to make all of us want to SCREAM! Right, MeMe? What kind of mischievous acts you ask? How bout peeing on my mom's couch!!! No, no. Not sitting down, watching t.v. and peeing in his pants, peeing on the couch- BUT - intentionally pulling down his pants, aiming and shooting... right on the couch. Not once, not twice.... 3 TIMES! Really?!?!?!

Mom posted this picture on Facebook this mornig....
Ha!
Now if that isn't some tude, I don't know what it is!

Shortly after the picture above she posted this picture...
She said he packed up all his stuff in his car and said "I'm going HOME!"

When I got home yesterday afternoon he was talking A LOT about "his friends, Cilla (his teacher @ school) and Jace!" He's mentioned school a few times over the past few weeks but I'm really starting to notice how much he misses it. The lucky part, his school is having a summer program that starts NEXT WEEK! I had decided at the end of the school year to give him the summer off and pass on the summer program but my baby is bored. And he misses school. So I thought last night "why not?" I asked Tuff several times if he missed his school, his friends, his teacher, etc? He said yes to all of them. I asked him several times (just to be sure) if he was ready to go back. Every time I got the same answer, "yes!" So, as of this morning, our sweet little almost 3 year old has been signed up to start summer school next week. My mom called earlier and said he's been talking about it all day. Now, let's hope he still feels that way when I drop him off next Tuesday! :) :) :)

Happy Thursday, friends!

Gunner Update

Gunner had surgery to get his tubes put in this morning. Everything went SO incredibly smooth. I was preparing myself for some crying and/or screaming when he was coming off of the anesthesia after surgery. Lots of people I know who's kids got tubes told me to be prepared for that. But he never shed a tear before OR after the surgery. I also expected him to be a little fussy up until the surgery because he hadn't ate anything since 7 p.m. last night. But he did wonderful with that too.

Headed to the DR. office...

Sitting with Daddy, waiting for the DR.

With mommy after surgery

He was already sucking down a bottle when they brought him out of recovery. Then on the way home he ate half of mommy's biscuit.... that's when I knew he was feeling back to his normal self.
Boy loves to eat! :)

He fell asleep about 5 minutes from home and was still snoring when I left for work.
SO glad everything went smoothly. Hopefully these tubes help our sweet boy to feel better and keep those horrible infections away!

We had Gunner's 9 month pictures made last weekend. I thought they turned out AMAZING. This has been my favorite photo shoot yet! Here are most of my favorites.

Can't believe we've already taken 9 month pictures! How is our baby already almost 10 months old? It doesn't seem real ya'll! He is getting SO big. He is a professional crawler now and he's pulling up on everything and even walking along side of the things he pulls up on. It won't be long before he takes off walking. I'm not sure I'm ready for that. But, ready or not, here he comes!

Hope you're all enjoying your week.
Happy Hump Day!

Random

This is going to be so long and random. I'd be surprised if any of you are still with me when I finish typing. We have been BUSY, BUSY the past few weeks. (Hints the lack of blog posts) Life has been crazy, stressful and full of fun all at the same time! The boys are growing up so fast before my very eyes! They are learning so much every day! I wanted to document some of the things they've been up too....
Tuff will be 3 in a little over a month! What happened to my baby?
How cute is he in his Sunday best?

He is talking and interacting so much more lately.
He can have the funniest little personality.

He's also starting the terrible 3's a little early. We're struggling on how to fix some things in that area.
He is completely potty trained. He hasn't wore a diaper or pull up in months. Even during nap time and bed time he stays dry! Well, most of the time. I do have to watch his liquids closer to bed time or we can have an accident.
He has also been without his "pooty" (Paci) for months.
He is still a very picky eater. His favorites are spaghettios, pizza (with no cheese), hot dogs, grilled cheese, french fries, grits, bbq chips, gold fish, oreos and milk!
He weighs 33 pounds.
He loves to be outside.

He still loves his sleep.
He loves his baby brother.
His favorite shows are Max & Ruby & Caillou.
He is my snuggle bug! He definitely has a little attitude but when it comes down to it, he loves to snuggle with his mommy.

I'm completely head over heels in love with this sweet boy!

As for Gunner, he'll be 10 months old in a couple weeks. I can't believe I've missed the last 2 months of his monthly stats. I really need to get caught up on that. I'll start here.

He is weighing in at 22 lbs 10 oz. Yes, we have a BIG boy on our hands.
He loves, loves, loves food. He'll eat just about anything you give him!
He's crawling around everywhere! He actually started crawling 2 days after his 9 month birthday!
He loves attention.
He's a MAJOR wiggle worm. He can't sit still for anything.
He loves his big brother. He's just now getting old enough to follow him around & try to do what he does. He loves taking baths with big brother!
He's been sleeping pretty good for a baby who stays SO sick. (knock on wood!!!) He still wakes up once or twice during the night sometimes, but usually goes right back to sleep. He goes down anywhere between 6:30-7:30 and usually wakes up between 5-5:15.
He's learned how to throw a ball. He's very proud of himself for it, too! I have a little video I'll try to get up soon.
He's starting pulling up on everything.
We had to lower his crib all the way to the bottom a couple nights ago.
This was making me nervous...
A little blurry but you get my point.

Gunner's ears have been a BIG problem the past 2 months. The poor baby has dealt with a double ear infection this whole time. We finally saw the ENT who confirmed he needed tubes since his ears didn't drain on their own. The only thing is, they scheduled his surgery almost 3 weeks out. So we're doing our best to keep him as comfortable as possible until then. Some days are hard. I can't imagine how hard it must be for him! We still have 9 more days to go! Please pray for us! :)

These babies are growing up WAY to fast. Next month I'll be planning a 3rd birthday and the month after I'll be planning a 1st! SO excited for both!
I am blessed to be their mama, for sure!

As for me, I've been broke down with a possible hair line fracture in my left ankle. I've been limping around looking like this for a little over a week.

Needless to say, my running/walking has been put on hold for a little while.
My DR has ordered physical therapy twice a week for the next 4 weeks. She says if I don't do the PT, it might not ever heal properly and I could have issues every time I try to exercise in the future if it doesn't heal correctly. I also have strict orders to keep it wrapped every day for the next week - 2 weeks and ice it twice daily. UGH! So much for trying to get in shape and lose weight! Guess I'll get back in my tennis shoes once it heals!

Other than dealing with my foot I have been enjoying some time in the sun. Shopping with my boys. Picture taking with Gunner. Catching up with a few old friends and working.

We are also headed down to Florida at the end of the month. I am counting down the days!!! Can't wait to see my family and get in some beach time with my boys!

I'd be surprised if anyone is still with me after all that blabbing!
Ha!

Happy Monday, friends!

Catching Up!

I haven't posted since Wednesday so I thought I'd play catch up this morning. Gunner's ENT appointment went well on Friday. He does have to have tubes. The good news from our appointment, he had no infection in his ears, only fluid. Thank the Lord. The DR said the reason he's keeping the ear infections is because his ears aren't draining the fluid off of them on their own. The antibiotic gets rid of the infection but doesn't get rid of the drainage. So the fluid sitting on his ears keeps the infections coming back. I really liked his DR. I even liked the office he was in. He will be getting his tubes on June the 13th. Even though this will be a scary experience, being his first surgery, I'm just glad my baby will finally be getting some relief. Now just praying everything goes smoothly.

Friday night Tuff has a playdate with cousin Ada while I ran to town to get a few things. He really had a good time. When I stopped by to get him on the way home they were just getting in the bath tub to take a bath. :) Saturday morning we got up and headed over to Aunt Amanda's for a little while to play. After a  few hours of playing with Aunt Manda, we headed to Easton's 2nd birthday party. I'm SO glad Lana does his party's here so we can spend that special time with them. (They live out of state) Tuff really enjoyed his time at Easton's party.
He played on the kiddie slides...

He ate with his friends.

He even got to ride the Gator (and loved it!)

Then he enjoyed his very BLUE cupcake on the way home.

Sunday morning we went to church and stopped by the grocery store on our way home. Everyone had Sunday naps, except mommy. Sunday night was spent with friends and family. Now we're gearing up for a day of fun in the sun for Memorial Day with our family.

Oh, and Gunner has learned something new.
Check it out.

Hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day!

Update on Gunner

Gunner's appointment on Monday went just like I thought it would. We were ordered 3 Rocephin shots for the next 3 days. The first one we got while we were there on Monday. We got one yesterday and one this morning. We were also referred to see an ENT on Friday morning. Hopefully the ENT will get us squared away and in the right direction. Ready for this baby to feel better!

Monday (shot#1) :

Tuesday (shot#2) :
He didn't even cry on Tuesday, just looked at the nurse like she was crazy!

I didn't get his picture this morning. For the first 2 shots, they made me wait 15 minutes after. I guess just to make sure he didn't have any reactions. During that 15 minutes is when I took his pictures. Today though, she let us go immediately after so I had no time for picture taking. Plus, he wasn't too happy about his shot today. I think because she moved back to the first leg which is still sore from Monday's shot, I'm sure!

He wasn't feeling up to par yesterday after his shot so I stayed home with him. He whined alot when he would try to move around. I'm pretty sure his chubby legs were/are sore. Those Rocephin shots are really painful. We just hung around the house, played a little and napped. Tuff headed out with his Baba around lunch time for "wucky cheese." He got home around 6:30. He had no nap all day so he was out like a light in the chair when I got in from running last night.

That's right, I said running. I've decided it's time to LOSE this baby weight. Why not, since I don't plan on having any more. I am 28 pounds up from where I started, before getting pregnant with Tuff. I'd really like to lose those 28 pounds, if not a little extra. Last night I did 2 miles. I went to a local track and would walk a lap and run a lap until I got up to 2 miles. I'm not going to lie, it was HARD. I even almost threw up twice (I think because I kept tasting my taco from lunch, yuck!).... But I kept pushing myself. Hopefully this will all work out in my favor. My sister has agreed to join me as much as she can. Thank the Lord. These kind of things just aren't easy doing alone. A motivational partner is always nice to have! Anyways, wish me luck!

Can't wait for our 3 day weekend!
Happy Wednesday, friends!
