Our weekend :)

We had a pretty eventful weekend....

Friday night my nephew headed off to his first PROM. He looked mighty handsome in his suit.

Friday afternoon, the boys and I headed to Murfreesboro for a little shopping and dinner. Saturday morning we got up early to head to a Mother's Day breakfast at Cracker Barrel for Meme. The kiddos enjoyed the toy spot, as usual.

After breakfast the boys headed to their daddys and mama got prepped for the 4K Tap N' Run in Nashville. Team Tye Dye had a blast! This was definitely one of the funnest things I'd done in a while!

Sunday morning I picked up my babies and a little while after being home with them, I got "prized" (surprised) with this...
(with a little help from Meme)

I am so blessed! I have the BEST babies in this world. I love them more than words can say.

Later in the afternoon after naps we headed to some family friends for a cookout. After eating we were all playing outside when Tuff fell and busted his lip! :( Poor buddy sliced it pretty deep so we had to make a trip to the ER. After being looked at, they decided he needed to be stitched up. He was a very brave boy. He did better than mommy did...

Luckily, he was sedated during the stitching process. I can't imagine what it'd been like if he weren't. It was hard enough seeing him go through that sedated. He was pretty out of it the rest of the night but woke up just fine this morning. Other than asking Meme to cut off his stitches. :)

It was definitely an unforgettable Mother's Day! Just thankful it wasn't any worse. We get stitches out on Friday... I'm sure that post will be a little more dramatic! :(

Hope you all had a nice weekend and Mother's Day!

Tuff update

We're gearing up for summer around our house. This week is Tuff's last week of WDS (day school). He will start pre-k (sniff, sniff) in the fall. We actually just had pre-k screening yesterday morning. He did very well and passed all his testing. I'm excited for this next step for my big boy. Hopefully he will feel the same when school starts in August. It's amazing how much he's grown since we started the day school a few years ago....

What else has Tuff been up to? Well... we have started T-ball and so far, he's loving it. He's doing pretty well considering it's his first year and he's only 3. He loves to hit the ball and he does very well hitting with the coaches pitches rather than using the Tee. We are all very proud of him! Here are a few pictures of him in action!

Gunner update

Gunner Blake just turned 18 months old a few weeks ago...
I almost have no words to describe this child. He has the BIGGEST, BRIGHTEST personality I've ever seen for an 18 month old.

He is always smiling, laughing, playing, talking, dancing, singing....

[proud of his climbing skills...]

I don't know that I've ever seen the child in a bad mood. He literally lights up my world. He is such a joy to be around. If I'm ever in a bad mood or have a bad day, he can always change my mood instantly.

He's a quick learner. He picks up on EVERYTHING. Especially talking. He's starting to repeat every thing he hears. He is already saying full on sentences at 18 months. It's amazing, actually. His personality is mine to a "T" Anyone who knows me, knows I love to talk! :)

He's also gotten very independent lately. He wants to do everything himself. Especially eating. Which can be very messy!

The child is obsessed with carrying 4 certain things around all day. Especially when he's going down for a nap or going down for the night. He goes no where without his paci, lovie, blanket or dog....

[in this picture, he has all 3 surrounding him]

[blanky love]

My sweet baby is growing into a toddler so fast I'm afraid to even blink most days. It's so crazy how much he's grown and how smart he's gotten... I love him so much my heart could BURST!!!!

God has truely blessed me with 2 amazing little boys and I couldn't ask for more!!!!!!!

Tuff update

My boys have really been growing up, right before my eyes lately. Tuff is 3 and a half going on 10. He's started calling me "Mom" and Jordan says he's been calling him "Dad." Sometimes the way he uses it makes me giggle and sometimes it literally breaks my heart. Like makes my heart physically ache. Sometimes I stop and stare at him and wonder where my itty bitty baby went? I found this picture the other day....

and I may have had a little pity party after finding it. How is that sweet little squishy faced baby 3 and a half already?

Tuff is a special child. He's very smart and intelligent. He amazes me on a daily basis. He tends to be a little bit of a loner though. He usually perfers to play alone. But he stays so focused on whatever it is he's doing. He's always doing his best and always seems to be so proud of himself when he's finished whatever it may be he's working on. He loves to build cities/towns with all his toy cars, blocks and figures.

One thing is for sure, this boy has a very special heart. He's always thinking about everyone else aside from himself. If he's playing and he's building or making, he's always making something for everyone he can think of. He loves his little brother, too. Of course we go through our normal daily struggles with sharing and hitting and fighting but at the end of the day, he loves his little brother.

We made a big decision last weekend and decided to sign him up for t-ball. Santa brought him a real baseball, bat and glove for Christmas this year.

He's been asking me about it for a while and every time we talked about it he would say he wanted to play. Last Friday night we had another talk and when I agreed that we'd sign him up he said "Thank you MOM, Love you MOM!" <Insert> heart aching "Mom" moment I was telling you all about.

I feel so very blessed to have this amazing 3 year old in my life who calls me "mom" on a daily basis. The Lord sure knew what he was doing when he gave me this one!

Stay tuned for an update on my "maniac" aka Gunner!

Happy Friday, friends!

Divorce & changes

Divorce...

Such an nasty word.

Such an ugly process.

Something I thought I'd never go through.

But...

I did.

He did.

Our children did.

Most of you may have already known, maybe even assumed, and most of you may not have known at all. The past few months have been an emotional rollercoaster for me, Jordan and our sweet babies. We mutually decided a few months ago to get a divorce. It was best for me. Best for Jordan. And best for our babies. Maybe not best for them right now, but best for their future. I'm not going to dig into details but will ask if you're reading this post, to please keep us in your prayers... As we are still adjusting to our new lives and settling in as a family of 3 instead of a family of 4.

Until next time....

Slacker

I have been slacking in the blog dept, for sure! We have been staying busy with every day life. You know, the normal full time job and being a full time mommy too! :) Thanksgiving has come and gone and now we're gearing up for Christmas! I'm not too sure why, but I haven't been in the Christmas spirit much this December. It is only day #7 though so maybe that will change. Speaking of, I'm going to pick up a few things for the boys after work today. (I'm sneaking out a half a day early... believe me when I say, I deserve it!)

So here's what we've been up to, picture style!

Our friend Snitch is back this year. Both the boys get excited about what he's gotten into when they wake up in the morning.
