Scary Scarecrow

That's what baby boy is going to be for Halloween this year. :) At Tuff's age, it seems like everything I could find when I was searching for a costume was either too much or not enough. Meaning... to much material (Suffocating) or not enough material. I came across a super cute scarecrow costume and they were sold out so I googled scarecrow costumes and found an even better one. Check it out...
(P.S. That's not Tuff in the costume... hehe)

How CUTE? It's definitely just the right amount of material where it's not smothering and it's still enough to be cute! I haven't tired the whole thing on him, just the hat, and he didn't seem to mind it. Which is a plus since we can't get him to keep anything on his head. :) I know one things for sure, that's going to be one sweet looking scarecrow walking the Woodbury streets for candy on Saturday night! This will be our first official Halloween in our house. We live in town so I'm thinking we will get some trick or treaters. Since Tuff is big enough to actually go trick or treating this year, I have mom coming over to hand out candy for a while, while we're out with Tuff. I hope he likes it as much as I did when I was little. I'm really looking foward to his first trick or treating experience. Of course I will take tons of pictures to share on Monday. Last year buddy was only 3 and a half months old so we just carried him to a few people's houses that we knew. He was just to little to be taken from door to door. He was a cute little clown at almost 4 months...

And this was buddy's pumpkin from 2009 Halloween.

Mama and Daddy worked hard on that pumpkin! :) We have so many pumpkins at home this year. Jordan had originally bought some for a fall arrangement at the house but then we had to buy a few more for the wedding so it got a little overwhelming. I've been talking about carving 2 of them for the front porch for a few weeks now but just haven't had the motivation to do it. Hopefully I'll get some motive to carve atleast one Friday night before all the trick or treaters come on Saturday. (We live in a small town who doesn't believe in having Halloween on Sunday's so they've decided to do it on Saturday this year since it falls on Sunday.) I am getting pretty excited for the Halloween festivities. I am actually headed to walmart on lunch break for candy.

Not much else going on around the Alford house. Jordan seems to be feeling a little bit better so that's good. Hopefully we can get his headaches and BP under control soon! I remember when my BP was messed up before I was on BP meds... It sure does make you feel rough so I can only imagine what my boogies is feeling like. As for sleeping in the Alford house, I am still exhausted. Tuff actually SLEPT last night though. That was the first night this week since last Saturday night that he has slept. I wonder if a combination of motrin/benadryl had something to do with that. Hehehe. Before you start calling me a bad mom for drugging my child to sleep, there were reasons for both meds. :) As I mentioned in an earlier post, he's trying to cut all 4 molars so I've been giving him motrin to relieve the pain because I'm sure that the pain is one of the reason's we are not sleeping. As for the benadryl, he woke up yesterday morning with a runny nose. Ugh! I hate a runny nose more than anything. Runny nose=NO sleep. Not just a little bit of sleep but NO sleep. I think I've explained this one before but I'll run it by ya'll again. In OUR house.... Runny nose=can't breathe through nose which=have to breathe through mouth which=can't have passy. Can't have passy=NO sleep for Tuff which=NO sleep for mommy! I think that about sums it up. So thats where benadryl pops into the equation. Last nights equation consisted of "Motrin + Benadryl = SLEEEEEEEEEEEEP!" and "SLEEP + Mommy + Tuff = One happy and well rested Mommy and Tuff!" Wooooo to the hoooooo! :) :) :)

We did go to Courtland's game Tuesday night. Unfortunitely Courtland didn't get any playing time. The game was a very good game and Westside did end up pulling off a WIN so we will be back Saturday at 1:45 to watch them play for 1st place. Hopefully Courtland gets some playing time.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday... Only half a day left until Friday! :)

Jordan's Bday celebration & Fall Pictures

We all got together Saturday night and enjoyed some chili, white bean chili, cake & ice cream and strawberry margaritas for Jordan's birthday. We had a pretty big group over and not one bite of chili was left over. I didn't get very many pictures because I was spending my time enjoying myself. :) I did, though, get a picture of my Boogs with his cake during the Happy Birthday song!

We had a good time with everyone besides watching TN lose to AL.

As I mentioned in my last post, I took Buddy outside Sunday afternoon to get some pictures of him with all of our fall arrangements. I got a few good ones. Here's a peak at what I got....

I did the best I could. Tuff has never really been the picture taking type. He could care less about the camera. I can hardly EVER catch a smile on camera. Especially when we pay to have them professionally taken. It's like he knows... :) But... He is a pretty smart boy.

I caught a few pictures of him during our routine sunday afternoon "play time." He has always seemed to have some kind of crazy fascination with shoes. He loves to play with them, throw them and try them on (his size or not). I've caught him a few times within the past few weeks in my closet with mommy's heals on. Shhh.... don't tell his daddy. Hehe. Anyways, Sunday afternoon he was going through his shoe basket in his closet and found a pair of rain boots my mom had bought him a while back. He insisted mommy help him get them on....

Checkin them out...

And showin them off...

He played in these for a while before he started squealing and pulling at them like he wanted them off. But as soon as daddy woke up from his nap, he wanted to put them back on to show daddy :) This was the end to our busy weekend.

As far as the beginning of the week goes, I am tired! We had some storms come through Sunday night so I was terrified. I'm always a big baby when it comes to storms. This being our (me and buddy) first stormy night alone (without daddy) since we moved into our house didn't make it any easier. Before Jordan left for work he laid out a flash light incase the lights went out. I said "The heck with lights, what if the tv goes out? How will I know what's going on?" Sure enough, a couple hours after Jordan left, tornado warning.. headed straight for us. I searched for a radio that took batteries and was pretty distraught when I figured out we didn't have one!!!! WHAT? Who doesn't have a battery operated radio... Add us to that list! Haha. Before we bought our house, we bought one of those news operated radios. It picks up all the local weather info and keeps you up to date on what's going on. Well... it worked perfect at Jordan's moms house. As soon as we moved into our house, it quit working. Jordan thinks it needs a special kind of intenna. So...... Sunday night, around 10 p.m., no radio, no satellite to tell me what's going on and the last I heard before I lost satellite was to take cover. Oh me. Just got Tuff to sleep. Got in Jordan's closet and cleared out a spot on the floor for buddy, put a blanket down and moved him to the closet. And this is how that turned out....

Haha. He never even budged. The best part to the story, about 60 seconds after I got him in there, mom called! She said "They just dismissed the warning!" Fantastic. So, moved Buddy back to the bed and finally laid down sometime close to 11. With it storming all night and buddy sleeping with me, I got little to no sleep at all. Then I was so tired all day yesterday thinking about how great I'd sleep last night. WRONG! Jordan was feeling bad last night so he called into work and left to go the ER around 7. Along with being up and worrying about him, Tuff did NOT want to be in his crib last night. He usually does this every night after getting to sleep with me. So after trying to get him down, I finally caved and put him in the bed with me. As soon as he fell asleep I moved him to the crib. It wasn't long before he was up and screaming again. This went on all night long. He is trying to cut molars so I think they were bothering him. Needless to say, I'm exhausted. I feel like a walking zombie. Praying for some sleep tonight....

As for my boogies, he's not been feeling well for the past few months. He's been having real bad headaches and high BP(blood pressure). Last night he was feeling so bad his mom decided to come get him and take him to the ER. When he got to the ER his BP was 169/109. For anyone who doesn't know, that is HIGH. After running several tests, they determined he had severe sinus infection in his head causing his face to swell and his BP to rise. They also found bacteria in his kidneys. The doctor has told him to drink lots of water to clear the bacteria from his kidneys and prescribed him 3 different prescriptions. One for BP, one to take the swelling down in his face, and a new sinus med. He was already on sinus meds, they just changed them. I'm just glad everything else came out ok. Please pray for my boogies to get to feeling better!

Tonight we will be going to watch Courtland play his first official grammar school basketball game. Good Luck Courtland!!!! Hopefully once we're home, we will all sleep peacefully.... ALL NIGHT!!!! :)

Happy Tuesday!!!

Fall Filled Weekend...

We had a nice, busy, tiring weekend! Friday night we headed to the Boro to eat some dinner, get Tuff some clothes and do some grocery shopping. We were all exhausted by the time we finally got home. Once we laid Tuff down, we were down not too long after. Saturday morning, I cooked breakfast and we all got ready and headed to the Pumpkin Patch. Tuff didn't get his morning nap so he was a pill the entire time but I still got TONS of good pictures. Here are some from our morning....
 Boys riding in the wagon.

 Ulaylah

 Baba with Jace & Tuff
 Dalton & Jordan

Saturday afternoon we celebrated Jordan's birthday and watched a disappointing football game. Sunday was a nice lazy day but I did get some pictures of Tuff with our fall arrangement outside. That post to follow.

Happy Monday!!!

Plans, Plans, Plans

So much for that relaxing weekend I blogged about a few weeks ago. I'm starting to believe there is NO such thing. :) We already have plans brewing for the upcoming weekend. We took all the babies to a local pumpkin patch last year....
(MeMe and Tuff)

(Checkin out the corn maze)

(Hangin out with mama & daddy)

(photo shoot with the pumpkins)

(all the chit-rins gettin ready for a hay ride)

(baby boy got sleepy on the ride)

...And now we have big plans to take them all back again Saturday morning. I am excited since Tuff is old enough to enjoy it this year. We also made plans to try a different farm. The one we will be visiting this Saturday has a lot more than the one we visited last year. Including a petting "zoo." I think Tuff will be pretty interested in this since he loves animals so much. I am excited to see how he does and I can't wait to get a ton of pictures of Tuff, Jace, and the 2 NEW babies since last years extravaganza. (Harrison & Ada) Pictures to come....

As you all know, Jordan's birthday was Tuesday so we have plans to celebrate his special day on Saturday afternoon. We have invited both immediate families over to enjoy some chili and white bean chili.

Another reason to get together......

The TN/Alabama game starts at 6pm Saturday night. (TN/Alabama game is a big deal on Jordan's side of the family since half of them are AL fans and the other half are TN fans.) May I state that, even though I am a LOYAL FSU fan, I will be rooting for TN Saturday. So let's GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It should be an interesting night. I currently have chili recipes, dessert ideas, and strawberry margarita mixes brewing for the occasion.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday!!!!!!!
